David May

the Swiss DJ and producer is no rookie to the world of dance music hits. While he built a solid reputation for his club and pop productions, he had never released a single under his own name – until 2009. Teaming with Sven Greiner, David has come up with the grandly titled and hugely evocative "Superstar.” The foundation of the track is a string arrangement that gained worldwide fame as The Verve's smash hit “Bitter Sweet Symphony” in the late 1990s. That song actually began life as an orchestral version, by the Andrew Loog Oldham Orchestra, of the Rolling Stones hit "The Last Time,” May's "Superstar," with new vocals by Duane Harden and Moises Modesto was given a striking electro flavor. The new track went down so well with everyone at ABKCO (publishers of "Bitter Sweet Symphony") that they immediately agreed to release it. Within the shortest space of time, “Superstar” shot to the top of the dance charts not only in Germany and Switzerland but across Europe. It was, clearly, a potential successor to the Guru Josh Project hit “Infinity 2008” and proof that dance music is not only alive and well, but it’s positively thriving – around the world!
